Yamaha has announced two new updates to its RX-V series of AV receivers, the 7.2 channel RX-V773WA and the RX-V673.
Both of these new receivers are AirPlay compatible and work directly with iPads, iPhones, and iPods using Yamaha's intelligent assignable amplifiers and YPAO system calibration.
The receivers provide access to content from virtually any source, and deliver audio from Internet radio and other DLNA-certified devices. The RX-V77WA version comes equipped with a Wi-Fi adapter for wireless system control and content streaming.
With the newly updated Yamaha AV controller app (free), which is tailored to the iPad and iPhone, system control is easier than ever. You can control input, volume, mute, and power commands, as well as browse content from all internally available sources using just your iDevice.
Both the RX-V773WA and the RX-V673 feature seven intelligent amplifiers that direct audio output for surround back, front presence, or zone 2 speakers according to listener preferences without needing to alter speaker connections. The amplifiers also allow a home entertainment system to deliver 7-channel surround sound in a single zone.
For sound realism, the two receivers have Dialog Lift, which ensures that all dialog comes from the center of the viewing area for movies and TV shows, and with the front panel USB inputs for direct digital connectivity, the sound quality from your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch is unparalleled.
The RX-V773WA will be available in June for $849.95, and the RX-V673 will be available in May for $649.85. Both models can be found at retailers that sell Yamaha products. For more information, visit the Yamaha website.
