While the iPad might be considered the de facto iOS device for reading news and books, the iPhone and iPod touch also provide a great experience for reading content with the same high resolution Retina display that the iPad has. There are already a variety of reading apps available for the iPhone and iPod touch, including Zine, Flipboard, and PressReader, but who says there isn't room for one more?
News Corp has officially launched The Daily app for iPhone and iPod touch, over a year after the app was released as the first newspaper published solely for the iPad. The Daily is a subscription-based publication that is now available in iPhone and iPod touch flavors for half the price.
A subscription to The Daily on the iPhone or iPod touch will run you just $1.99 a month, or $19.99 per year, which is half off the 99 cents per week or $39.99 per year price for an iPad subscription. The app itself is available from the App Store as a free download.
