Pfaeffikon, Switzerland – Power App GmbH is pleased to announce its newly updated QR-Reader app for iPhone and iPad, which makes it simple to both scan and create QR codes. The app now generates longer QR codes of up to 134 characters, and recognizes phone numbers, addresses, and URLs.
Users can quickly scan QR codes using the app, which are found on many posters, labels, and advertisements around the world today. In addition, the app can also read UPC bar codes, such as those found on books and products sold in stores. QR-Reader includes advanced features that are not found in many other apps. A history of scans is saved for quick recall. Street addresses can be saved and shown in maps. And, codes can be printed or shared with friends.
"The QR-Reader app makes is easy to scan both QR codes and bar codes," said Power App General Manager Christian Schaffner. "It's the best way to unlock the secrets that hide inside these codes we see around us every day."
QR codes were designed to save people time. There is no longer a need to type in long web addresses – people can just take a picture of the code with their smartphone and quickly go to the website.
In today's world, QR codes can be found everywhere – on posters, business cards, signs, and more – and scanning them will unlock helpful resources. For example, users can read a QR code to learn more about a product or event, maybe even get a coupon. But QR codes cannot be read without a special app for the iPhone or iPad, such as QR-Reader. Without such an app, users are missing out on secrets hidden inside the codes.
In addition to scanning, the QR-Reader app can also help users create their own QR codes quickly. For example, they can make custom codes of a web address that they want people to visit. Users type the address, tap "done", and the code appears – it can be sent or printed via the Print Screen function.
The app was created by Power App GmbH, an iPhone development company based in Switzerland, that currently has 25 apps available worldwide in the App Store. Other apps designed by Power App GmbH include CAS Calc P11, Hot My Boots, Speech2SMS, Beauty_de, and more.
Features of the QR-Reader app include:
